| This special tour combines the miracle of a cycling tour and of the spa-pleasures in one. The bike tour starts at the feet of the Tokaj-Vineyards and it is easily manageable for everyone. Then we follow the River Tisza on its tarmac-covered embankment. We cycle for miles along this unspoilt “riverscape” while seeing and listening to pure nature, one of this region’s jewels. The comfortable bike tour comes to an end in Nádudvar where in the evening you can enjoy a happy Puszta-Pool-Party. |
Day 1. – ARRIVAL in BUDAPEST. – Individual arrival latest until 6pm in Budapest. Tour briefing with the guide and dinner. Day 2. – WINE of the KINGS – KING of the WINES. – Transfer to Tokaj. Handing over the bikes and “warm-up”. Here ripens the “Wine of the Kings – King of the Wines”. Wine tasting followed by a dinner and overnight stay in the wine region of Tokaj. (Stage: approx. 19 miles / 30 km) Day 3. – ALONG the RIVER TISZA. – We cycle southwards on side roads. The landscape south of Tokaj is flat. We cross the river and cycle along the embankment. The flora and the fauna create a special flair around the riverscape and nature reserve. Cycling on towards Tiszaújváros. /Hotel für 2 nights!/ (Stage: approx. 32 miles / 52 km) Day 4. – DAY to Rest and BATHE in a CAVE-SPA. – First we enjoy the superior thermal- and spa-complex of Tiszaújváros, in the afternoon: transfer (only 33 km) to Miskolc-Tapolca, to visit Europe’s only cave-spa. Continue towards Lillafüred, a lakeside climatic resort. Dinner with fried trout. Bus transfer to back to our hotel of the preceding night. Day 5. – MARVELOUS “RIVERSCAPES”. – We cycle enjoying a beautiful stage again on the Tisza-embankment. Fascinating lowland forests are along our route to the artificial Lake Tisza. We arrive soon in Tiszafüred (Füred = Spa), Here we will enjoy the rustic open-air thermal spa. (Stage: approx. 34 miles / 54 km) Day 6. – RIVER and LAKE TISZA. – A boat trip awaits you today morning through the branched system of the river (bird sanctuary). We cycle gently on the embankment until we reach Berekfürdö. You have the opportunity to enjoy spa-pleasures again. (Stage: approx. 31 miles / 49 km) Day 7. – The “SHOW MUST GO ON” – CYCLING and BATHING. – From Szerpe we ride towards the lovely village of Kaba and its spa. Today’s stage ends in the city of Nádudvar, popular place among open-air thermal-bath fans and big game hunters. As the ending of the day, we would like to surprise you with a plash-happy “Puszta-pool-party”. (Stage: approx. 19 miles / 30 km) Day 8. – RELAXING, CYCLING and SET OUT for BUDAPEST. – Cycling to the potter, master of the black pottery art. The main attraction here above all is the pleasant amber coloured thermal water of the local spa. Free time, bathe, swimming and relaxing. We cycle only 9 miles (15 km) to the railway-station at Püspökladány after the lunch break. Transfer to Budapest. Goodbye dinner in the hotel in Budapest. (Stage: approx. 9 miles / 15 km) Day 9. – Individual departure after breakfast or staying for extra nights. Included – 8 nights B&B accommodation in comfortable hotels or guest houses in double or twin rooms with private facilities (shower/WC). – 8 evening meals of typical Hungarian cooking (half-board, 3 X wine). – Wine tasting in Tokaj wine-region. – Transfers according to Program Description, Railway Station transfer in Budapest. – 1 X boat trip in the Hortobágy National Park (Bird Reserve - Lake Tisza, with guide). – 7 X spa admissions. – Admission fees & guidance according to program description – Service/Following bus for luggage transport from hotel to hotel. – Special bike-transporting trailer for bicycles & spare bikes – English speaking guide during the whole tour. – Carefully selected routes. |
