The rental fee of the bicycles and saddlebags from us on our tours with published schedules on request are included in the tour prices. Participants of our organised bike tours will receive their bikes in accordance with the individual services list & invoice of their each biketour.)

One thing is clear: cycling is still beloved – close to nature and environment-friendly. VELO-TOURING runs the only public bicycle rental service on the Buda side of Budapest. We offer now help for those bike-fans who would like to learn more about Hungary on their own. We established a bicycle pick-up/drop-off service in Budapest.

VELO-TOURING makes it now possible to start exploring Hungary on bike directly from your accommodation.

Of course the bikes can be picked up directly at the VELO-TOURING depot Budapest too. It lies in a quiet district in the ‘green-area’ of Budapest (Buda-side, at the bottom of the Sas (Eagle)-hill). Our depot is an advantageous starting point for several cycle-tours through Budapest/Hungary. Please keep in mind that we do not have any depots outside Budapest. To experience Hungary comfortably and safely, our individual guests will be provided with well equipped top-condition 21-gear men’s and women’s touring-bicycles of high quality that are not older than 3 years. We also have special 26” women’s 3-gear bikes with coaster brakes and some children’s bicycles.

Unfortunately there are still no complete bicycle-route maps for individual bikers, as our cycle path network is still at its early stage. Available maps are therefore inaccurate and disappointing. (You need to take into account also that you will be confronted mostly with our - for foreigner hardly understandable - national language along the way.) Bike-routes are rarely signposted and quiet paths are often not even marked on maps. Not without any reasons have we been successfully organizing exclusively guided/leaded bicycle tours since 1991.

The short or somewhat longer bridging transfers during our catalogue-tours are still considered to be essential for our bikers. So we, as the first professional travel office for cycling tours through Hungary (since 1991) would like to help you to make the right choice. Because of incomplete bikeway-network and heavy traffic on the main roads, the most important thing for the biker is: to select quiet routes of good quality by all means. Our catalogue-tours lead far from main roads, often on unmarked, small routes. Our experienced tour guides and drivers know each daily stage, route and region as their saddlebag. They explored and planned each part of the tour independently. Routes defined by them lead almost without exception far from any kind of main roads, mostly on secondary roads of little traffic, on tranquil forest-, embankment- and field-paths, secret land-routes and through small Hungarian villages.

We don’t want to frighten you by any means and offer guests, who - ‘despite all’ - would like to encounter Hungary by cycling on their own well-maintained bicycles for rent.
