In the main excellent cycle path network, else calmly roads with low traffic, sometime between little villages and woods. Level of support: | Information about the service and luggage van (the “Technical Service”) - The Driver of the back-up van, however, is not just a chauffeur & luggage supplier! The escort van carries your luggage from hotel to hotel and brings some spare-bikes too. For even more safety along the way is the driver of the van equipped with mobile (cell-) phone. The daily biking routes cross again and again the way of the service and luggage van. The van follows the cyclists without coming in sight or disturbing. It has the tools, spare parts and a travel pharmacy, additional bike bags on board. The driver help repair the failures with the rented bikes - he is ready to help for you! The bus/van transfers of cyclists inserted occasionally in the trips make it possible to overcome roads with heavy traffic or exhausting short-cuts and make it possible a transport to a next city of the tour. During the transfers the Driver of the van carries your bicycles for free in the special bike-transporting trailer. | |

Day 1 – WELCOME TO VIENNA (Austria) – Arrival at the Hotel in Vienna in your organisation. Discover the Danube-Metropolis Vienna, the capital of the Republic of Austria (on one’s own!). Experience the down-to-earth Vienna today in the coffee houses and typical restaurants, at a Sacher cake, or during a leisurely stroll on the ring road, even in the Prater. Overnight stay in our partner hotel in Vienna. Day 2 – RIVER DANUBE AND BRATISLAVA (Slovakia) – After breakfast the tour-coordinator/driver of the back-up van will welcome you at 8:45 a.m. in the same hotel. (Meeting point: hotel reception) Route briefing. The bikes will be adjusted and the cycling adventure is finally ready to start. There is a beautiful cycle path ahead on the Hubertus-embankment along the Danube River (nature reserve). Today you have the opportunity to see two fantastic Castles as well. You arrived in the spa site Bad Deutsch Altenburg. Finally transport directly to the hotel in Bratislava the capital and historical coronation town of Slovakia. A walking tour in its charming downtown highly recommended for you!
(approx. 50 km / 31 miles cycling) Day 3 – LAKE NEUSIEDL CYCLE PATH – The first destination is Parndorf then you cycle along shore of Lake Neusiedl, through Rust (“the town of the storks”) and Mörbisch. Sopron, today‘s destination, is the only Hungarian town where almost the entire city centre has survived from the Middle Ages. In October 1820 entered the nine-year-old Franz Liszt with the performance of a piano concerto for the first time publicly at a concert in Sopron town.
(approx. 60 km / 37.5 miles cycling) Day 4 – HAYDN AND THE ESZTERHÁZY DYNASTY – Today, you enjoy the beautiful view on the Fertö (Neusiedl) Lake and the nice scenery of the region. A landscape of vastness, which influenced the horizon, views and the genius mind of Haydn. Visit the magnificent baroque palace of the prince family of Eszterházy in Fertöd (Eszterháza)! Joseph Haydn had been working in the castle for almost 30 years as a court composer and conductor.
(approx. 56 km / 35 miles cycling) Day 5 – NATURE AND THERMAL LAKE – Cycling through small, dreamy villages with their quaint atmosphere. Stork nests decorate the roofs and the masts. We reach the famous Spa resort Hévíz with Europe's largest natural thermal lake nearby the great freshwater Lake Balaton. In the proximity is located the town Keszthely with the Castle and Castle Park Festetics - also a part of Austria-Hungary history.
(approx. 60 km / 37.5 miles cycling) Day 6 – LAKE BALATON CYCLE ROUTE, THEN BUDAPEST – You leave the town of Keszthely at the Lake-Balaton. Cycling first on the western- and then on the southern side of the lake. Enjoyable cycling along the flat southern lakeside. Along the way there are swimming option with panoramic view. You reach the middle of southern shore of the Lake Balaton right away. Goodbye look on the Balaton; our transfer van/bus is waiting to transport you to Budapest - „Queen of the Danube” (about 1.5 hour). Leisure time, then overnight stay in the Hotel in Budapest, in the capital of Hungary.

Information to return trip from Budapest to Vienna: You have 3 + 1 options – you can travel by hydrofoil, by train or by public bus from Budapest to Vienna. The trip and the ticket(s) you must organise for yourself. For small groups (with- or without own bicycles) transport by minibus or van a special trip back to Vienna or to Bratislava is also possible. (Prices and time tables are available upon request at your booking.) |
